OPTOMAP AND OCT BUNDLE

A CLEARER LOOK AT YOUR EYE HEALTH

Retinal imaging gives us a detailed view of the back of your eyes, helping us spot changes that can be easy to miss in a standard sight test alone. We use OCT and Optomap technology in Sleaford to build a fuller picture of your eye health. OCT creates detailed cross-sectional images of the retina, while Optomap captures an ultra-wide field view in a single scan.

That means we can check for early signs of concerns such as glaucoma, macular changes, diabetic eye disease, and retinal tears. These scans are quick and non-invasive, and they can be especially useful if you want extra reassurance about your vision. For generations, Dixons Opticians has cared for local families, and this technology helps us keep our care thorough and up to date.

TESTIMONIALS

Excellent customer service, and after care second to none. I’ve had glasses from Dixons for close to 40 years and hope to continue to for many years to come.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM RETINAL IMAGING

  • OCT 3D eye scans

  • Optomap ultra-widefield retinal imaging

  • Combined scan bundle for £45

  • Quick and non-invasive appointments

  • Detailed view of retinal layers

  • Wider view of the back of your eye

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF OPTOMAP?

Your retina is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly, so it is a good place for optometrists to spot any issues that may indicate a problem with your health. Traditional methods of viewing the retina only allow optometrists to see 10-15% of your retina at one time, which limits our ability to prescribe the most accurate corrective sunglasses or spectacles early on.

Using an Optomap with its ultra-wide digital retinal imaging system means that we can see up to 80% of your retina at once. This enhanced view means we are able to detect even the earliest signs of disease that affect your retina, which gives us more opportunity to educate you about your eye health and ensure treatment is started early.

THE OCT SCAN

An OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages, allowing us to take a 3D image of the back of your eye. The optometrist carries out the scan, analyses and discusses the results with you during the appointment to allow for a better view and understanding of your eye health.
